We bet you do at least one of these things everyday.
You know how sometimes you start the day with your tummy nice and flat, but then an hour later your food baby is out and ready to see the world? Yeah, that's the worst. Luckily, we got to speak with celebrity nutritionist Kimberly Snyder, who has worked with stars like Drew Barrymore and Channing Tatum, and got the inside scoop on what you're doing that's causing you to bloat-even if you don't know it.
You're eating fruit after a heavy meal. On her blog, Snyder explains that while fruit is an amazing food that helps with cleansing and beautifying, it's important to note when in the day you are consuming it. You should never eat fruit as a dessert. "Because fruit is mostly made of a high percentage water, it digests quickly. If you eat it after heavier foods it can make you bloated (making it difficult to digest), and hinder your weight-loss efforts."

Nature'a rainbow. Sending you love for your week ahead! ❤️
You're not starting the day with water. The reason so many celebs drink hot water with lemon? It relaxes your bowels, says Snyder, aiding digestion.

You're Eating Dry Chia Seeds. You may think you're doing the right thing for your health by tossing a bunch into your smoothie, but if you haven't mixed them with water and turned them into a gel first, they'll pull water from your intestines, Snyder says, messing up your digestion and making it harder to go No. 2.

Mid-afternoon snack! Green Power Protein Smoothie + Chia Pudding with acai granola and banana. The latter is kinda sweet so feels like a dessert- but it is also packed with plant protein, fiber and antioxidants. 😋 #hungry #healthy
You Swear by Twice-a-Year Detoxes. People often go on cleanses once or twice a year, when they're feeling heavy. "That's like only cleaning your house twice a year," Snyder says. "What would your house look like if you only did that?" Instead, she advocates cleaning out your system on the regular-but that doesn't mean going on a juice fast every other week or anything. Instead, she recommends starting the day with plenty of fiber, which keeps your system running smoothly. Clients like Reese Witherspoon swear by drinking her Glowing Green Smoothie every morning. Want something sweeter? Snyder suggests making a smoothie with almond milk, Sambazon frozen acai puree, chia seeds (that have been prehydrated with water, so they're already jelly-like) and bee pollen.
